Biography

Marian Iordache was born in Cernavodă, on 4'th  october 1961. In 1962, he moved with his family at Medgidia, where he grew up and where he attended primary and secondary schools.

In 1981, after graduating High School No.1, Marian Iordache joined the Faculty of Engineering at the  "Ovidius" University  in Constanta city. Graduate, in 1984,  he began to work  at IMUM, where, in a very short time,  he advanced to the position of foreman. Mr. Iordache  graduated  UTS Faculty of Mechanical Engineering - engineer - University "Ovidius ".

Between 2004 - 2007, Marian Iordache worked for IMUM Medgidia, initially as commercial director and then as general manager until 2007.

From 2007 until June 2008, Iordache Marian worked for the National Company of Motorways and National Roads in Romania, DRDP Constanta, serving as Commercial Director.

Political Activity

Marian Iordache was always concerned about the town, the evolution and development of the city, both in terms of urban planning and social-economic issues. That concern for the welfare of the local community and its residents  led him to apply for the position of deputy. Since 1991, for 12 years, he has held the position of Deputy Mayor.

Concerned about the constant training and self-improvement, Marian Iordache followed a series of specialized courses, accumulating an impressing number of degrees. Some of these courses are:

In 2008, Marian Iordache attends the project management courses organized by Human Resources Development Institute, Constanta, and in 2009 attends training programs in Emergency Situations Management in Bacau.

Marian Iordache has also been involved in many other economical, cultural and social activities. He was involved in European-funded projects like PAEM - for combating unemployment- or SESAM  to support third age people.
Since 1995 until 2004, he served as local development agent for the PHARE program.

Activity as a Mayor

In June 2008, Marian Iordache is elected mayor with 62.5% of the electorate votes. Under the slogan "Safety and Respect for Everyone!" Marian Iordache has convinced voters of his good intentions, his volunteer spirit and solidarity. He worked hard to initiate and develop  relevant urban projects and proved his unconditional dedication and involvement in city administration.

The projects developed from the beginning of his term as mayor are focused on construction of social housing and also on creating a water network for households in Remus Opreanu village. He is also concerned in modernizing the sewerage networks, the rehabilitation of roads in Medgidia city and implementing a wind system, and also improving Medgidia's General Urban Plan.

The Mayor is a member of the ProMedgidia Association and FACSD Foundation Medgidia. Marian Iordache always showed his concern regarding the city's cultural environment. This is the reason why he advocates for the revival of cultural and artistic activities in Medgidia, as a member of the Cultural Foundation "Lucian Grigorescu".
Mr. Marian Iordache is also the President of Medgidia Development Association (ADZM) and Intercommunity Development Association, Medgidia (ADIM).
