Performance contract for " Sewage enlargement and wastewater pumping stations rehabilitation in Medgidia"

The period specified in the contract is 40 days, starting on October 13, 2009. The investment involves the expansion of domestic sewer and the construction of two pumping stations in the south of the city. It also involves the rehabilitation of three existing pumping stations that are located in the north of the city. Sewerage expansion works will be carried out on the streets Magheru - 157 m long, Decebal Street - 160m long, Kemal Agi Amet - 174m long, Margaritarului - 200 m long, Seaway area DMN - 490 m long, Fundatura Abatorului and Alee put 10 - 636 m long, Zone 2 SP - 484 m long. In the same investment project will be built 54 homes and 154 connections related. Pumping stations to be rehabilitated are: Valcelelor street SP3, SP5 on Plopilor street and SP6 on Silozului street. The project is implemented through the Phare program 2006 and is worth a total of 900.186 EUR, from which the EU contribution represents 800.186 EUR and 100.000EUR is Medgidia City Hall's contribution.
"We intend through this project to improve urban comfort and adapt it to European standards," said Mayor Marian Iordach. "The investment will improve access to basic utilities for a total of about 10,500 citizens. Especially the construction of two pumping stations and rehabilitation of other three stations will reduce pollution in Medgidia - more than 190 individual septic tanks will be removed." said the Mayor. On 14 October, in the presence of local authority and representatives of subordinated units, the designers of ISPE Bucharest, the chief engineer and the construction company representatives met in order to sign for the project startup.
