After the signing of the contract, the municipality has organized the working teams, which also initiated proceedings and activities for the development and coordination of the project”, said Mayor Marian Iordache. “Few know that the European projects are expensive and involve a great responsibility on the part of the recipient of funds. We are now able to announce, for the current year, the start of reconstruction works of a first batch of 14 streets, following that in 2011, to consider the remaining 17 municipal streets mentioned in the project. One impediment to the timely start of work was perhaps just the whimsical winter. And, not unimportant, the fact that the necessary funds were directed to our financer not long ago”, continued Mr. Mayor.

The project in Medgidia is totaling 30.833.793, 09 RON of which 25.392.534, 5 is a grant funded by the European Regional Development Fund (22.412.799,18 RON and funding from the national budget – 2.979.735, 32 RON), 518.216 RON - co-financing from the beneficiary and the amount of VAT – 4.923.042,59 lei.
